An interesting phenomenon is the interest in church denominations reconciling with other church denominations. One difficulty is that it is frequently not realized that the differences are stake are theological.
You cannot reconcile different theological positions without one side or both sides changing their theology. While many splits theologically are not necessary the reality of theological differences is real.
Trying to reconcile theological rifts without finding common theology is an offense at a belief that there is an absolute truth.
As the bible says there is a time for everything. Sometimes there is a time to find peace and sometimes there is a time to speak the truth.
We are often too afraid about the results of our actions to do what we know we should. What does it mean to live by faith and can we trust the results to God?
