The Nature of Man

The nature of man is intrinsically sinful. A lot of people look out and see the great evil in the world and think that is just a few people out there.

There is the need to look into ones heart to see the darkness inside oneself. The heart is deceitful above all things and it likes to deceive the self that all is well.

The darkness of ones heart is not simple to face, but the good news is that once it is faced the solutions become very apparent. The first solution always seems to be to fix ones heart by ones own strength. This always fails because the heart is dead and will not change.

This necessitates the need for external help. But of course the Lord of the Christian scriptures greatly offers his help freely.

People talk about God as if he is holding back faith. This couldn't be farther from the truth. The Christian God is out actively pursuing men.

It's frequently the case that men are more interested in hiding and fleeing from the living God. Of course there are many excuses.

I am too busy. Yes we are all busy, but the reality is that we have found time for many things of far less importance than eternal decisions.

We are busy, so busy because we are always running from our guilt. It is our guilt which drives our business and it drives us so we do not have a moment to look upon our guilt.

The guilty conscious is the most interesting proof for Christianity. All man struggle under the sense that they are not who they were meant to be. That something is missing in the present day.

The guilty conscious is the realization of sin. God is knocking at the door and the question is if man will answer.
