Christianity Today Article

This is a very good article. I often have felt things to what this article says about leadership in church and para-church organizations. I don't agree with everything in the article but it is a very good read. Often the rich are pushed to positions of leadership in church whether or not they are gifted at church.

There is no reason to assume that the elder board of a church should be made up of only the wealthy business men in the church. Standard arguments about finance and budgeting do have some validity but many people of moderate incomes do a large amount of work with finances in small companies every day. You don't often see an accountant on a church board for example and they might have greater budgeting ability than the highly successful sales rep on the board.
